Zac Stacy, a New York native and star running back at Vanderbilt University, is worth an estimated $1.5 million. His rookie contract with the St. Louis Rams pays Stacy $405,000 in 2013, but that isn’t what has amassed his net worth from football recently.
In 2009 during his junior year in high school, Zac became the first sophomore ever to earn a scholarship in Cross County for Glencliff High School under coach Kevin Wright. In 2010 he was awarded Tennessee’s highest honor when he was named Mr. Football by The Tennessean newspaper after rushing for 1,955 yards and 32 touchdowns. Zac went on to lead all SEC rushers with 1,141 yds rushing and ten touchdowns and was one of five finalists for the Doak Walker award.

Stacy decided against declaring for the NFL draft at Vanderbilt and instead returned to school as a senior in 2013. That year he led Vandy to their first bowl game victory since 1955, was named SEC offensive player of the year, and led the country with 20 rushing touchdowns. He ended his college career with 3,143 yards and 33 touchdowns. On December 14th, 2013 he officially declared himself eligible for the 2014 NFL Draft.

The St Louis Rams drafted Zac during the 5th round on May 10th, 2014 after a stellar showing at Vanderbilt University’s Pro Day where he ran a 4.55 40-yard dash as well as clocked a 36-inch vertical leap. Stacy then signed a four-year, $2.5 million contract with the Rams before even playing a single down in the NFL.
His NFL career hasn’t been quite as exemplary as his successes during college, however. Zac Stacy has played only sparingly for the St Louis Rams since being drafted and managed to rush 14 times for 57 yards and no touchdowns in 2013 whole also managing to fumble twice. Being on such a bad team doesn’t help increase his net worth either as they were consistently ranked towards the bottom of their division over those years he was there.
Zac still earns an average of $405,000 per year according to ESPN statistics, but let’s not forget about endorsements and other sources of income that add to his net worth. Stacy announced he had signed a contract with Nike shortly after being drafted by the Rams, and started an endorsement deal with Gatorade before ever playing an NFL game.
Stacy has also appeared in numerous commercials since earning his first NFL paycheck. He’s been featured on adverts for McDonald’s, Nissan, DeWalt Tools, Old Spice, Red Bull , Nationwide Insurance and Carl Jr.’s . Zac has definitely made the most of his football fame and we can expect to see more earnings from him as time goes on. Because of this we will keep our eye on any future endorsements and other endeavours that help increase Zac Stacy’s net worth in the future.
