Vegas Dave Early life
In 1976 a young Canadian named Dave Oancea was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. Growing up, he moved around quite a bit and ended up at the University of Nevada for college to study math and pre-med, only to realize his heart wasn’t in it. After taking out a $10k loan from the bank and betting it on one roll of the roulette wheel, Dave won $20k, which kick-started his career as an underdog gambler.
Recently Oancea has been banned from most casinos in Las Vegas and other states. They refused to allow his bets because he had lost the casinos a great deal of money without clearly indicating that he would stop losing. He refused to have his winnings approved by the casino, claiming he was an omen for others who were also trying their luck at the tables. He now owns a sports betting consulting company that helps people do as well as he does regarding profits from sports betting (though not all of them become lucky enough to make it into the same league as him).
Oancea’s betting career took off after he doubled his money at the roulette table. He used the $20k to jumpstart his additional bets. Dave had a dream of making it big in this business but saw many difficulties on his road to success. He nearly lost all of his money and spent a couple of months in Gambler’s Anonymous and had to borrow money from his parents. Eventually,
he learned to manage his money and got out of debt thanks to a loan from Dave’s parents, who believed in him and helped him along the way. This business was risky, but Dave couldn’t give up on it because he knew that he could make it work one day. His risky bets have paid off over time, and in 2012, Dave predicted a long shot that the Ravens would win the Super Bowl, which ended up paying off big for him when he made a bet for $8k with a payout value of $208k.
Dave of SportsBetting.ag is known for being a successful punter. Among his many feats is that he bet $100k in 2015 for the KC Royals to take home the World Series Trophy, as they were only 7 days into the season and deemed by bettors and experts to end up at the bottom of the AL Central. After fighting their way into contention, Kansas City won the World Series,
and Vegas Dave walked away with a record-breaking payout worth $2.5 million! In 2015 Dave predicted Holly Holm would beat undefeated UFC Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey when everyone believed her invincible. He bet $20k on Holm and made a payout of $240k – another historical event in UFC history.
As of 2021, Vegas Dave’s personal fortune is around $10 million or more. His record-setting sports bet payouts have been a huge source of his wealth, but the bulk would be from his Vegas Dave Consulting Group.
