Rico Nasty Early life
Rico Nasty was born maria-cecila Simone Kelly on May 7, 1997. Her mother was Puerto Rican, while her father was African American. Her father was also a rapper which influenced her path as a rapper. She studied at Baltimore Boarding school but would be expelled at the age of 14 for smoking marijuana. Her father was sentenced to prison when she was only 15 years old, and it was at this time that her mother married a man by the last name of Polanco.
Rico’s daughter Cameron was born when she was just 18 years old. Unfortunately, her child’s father died because of an asthma attack while Rico was still in high school. Before, she worked as a hospital receptionist but gradually began focusing on her singing career once she gained prominence and became famous. Her manager turned boyfriend Malik Foxx helped push her career.
While still in high school, Rico released her first songs in 2014. She produced even more music that included singles like iCarly and Sugar Trap. In 2016 she started gaining popularity after the release of the single Hey Arnold, which Lil Yachty remixed along with a rapper called Landon Cube in 2017. Aside from being an up-and-coming rapper, it turns out that the singer is also a well-known songwriter like Nicki Minaj and Beyonce.
2017 was a big year for Ariana Grande. She released her single “Poppin”, which quickly gained millions of views on YouTube. She also released Sugar Trap 2 in 2017, where Rolling Stone commented was among the Best Rap Albums for 2017. Following that, she’s released Nasty and Anger Management mixtapes, as well as the singles “Smack A bitch and “Key Lime OG”. Her song Key Lime OG became successful when fans started TikTok, putting their memes on social media. Her recent release of Sweetener in 2018 led to Atlantic Records signing her as an artist.
In 2019 she was under the 29 in music we featured on Forbes, and just this year, she has already been busy. Rico is already on tour with her debut making waves as an emerging star in music.
