It has been reported by the Mainichi Shimbun that Princess Mako will be marrying Kei Komuro, five years her junior; who reportedly has a net worth of 1.8 million dollars or ¥196 million.
The 25-year-old princess, the granddaughter of Emperor Akihito, met her fiance at International Christian University in Tokyo where they both studied. Although she was able to study for free thanks to her imperial status, Mako worked part-time jobs as well as took summer classes so that she could pay for living expenses and other costs associated with tuition during her time there.
|Full Name||Mako Komuro|
|Birth Date||October 23, 1991|
|Birth Place||Tokyo Imperial Palace, Japan|
|Known as||Former Princess of Japanese Imperial family|

Career and Net Worth Princess Mako:
As previously stated, the princess majored in art and cultural heritage at International Christian University.
Not long after returning home from her studies abroad, Mako was promoted to a full-time employee of the Imperial Household Agency; where she has worked as an apprentice alongside staff members since 2012.
With many ties and connections throughout Japan’s royal family, it wouldn’t be surprising if Princess Mako were also extremely wealthy herself.
A citizen of both Japan and the United States, Princess Mako was born to Prince Akishino (second in line for the Chrysanthemum Throne) and Princess Kiko on November 23, 1993.
She has one older sister named Princess Kako who is currently attending university.
Mako was raised as a Catholic but also studied at Shukutoku Junior High School, Gakushuin Primary School, Gakushuin Girls’ Junior and Senior High Schools; all institutions which are considered elite private schools.
Much like most royal families throughout the world, Japan’s imperial family is often scrutinized for its lavish lifestyles.
However, despite her educational background and royal work experience that translates into major career opportunities; Princess Mako has chosen to live a relatively modest lifestyle.
According to an article published by The Asahi Shimbun on December 8th 2017, the princess currently resides in a small apartment with her fiance Komuro Kei just outside of Tokyo’s city center.
The couple reportedly spends their time visiting art exhibitions and museums as well as taking strolls around Yoyogi Park which serves as public space for citizens desiring some peaceful time outdoors.
Princess Mako also enjoys contemporary art, calligraphy and cooking according to the same Asahi Shimbun article.
Overall, Princess Mako seems to be a well-educated and down-to-earth young woman with an estimated net worth of 10 million dollars. While her marriage to Kei Komuro will no doubt come with increased financial obligations, it doesn’t seem as though she is motivated by money or status alone. Rather, it appears that Mako values experiences and relationships most in life – two things which will undoubtedly be amplified with her upcoming nuptials.
