Lifestyle:
Much like most royal families throughout the world, Japan’s imperial family is often scrutinized for its lavish lifestyles.
However, despite her educational background and royal work experience that translates into major career opportunities; Princess Mako has chosen to live a relatively modest lifestyle.
According to an article published by The Asahi Shimbun on December 8th 2017, the princess currently resides in a small apartment with her fiance Komuro Kei just outside of Tokyo’s city center.
The couple reportedly spends their time visiting art exhibitions and museums as well as taking strolls around Yoyogi Park which serves as public space for citizens desiring some peaceful time outdoors.
Princess Mako also enjoys contemporary art, calligraphy and cooking according to the same Asahi Shimbun article.
Overall, Princess Mako seems to be a well-educated and down-to-earth young woman with an estimated net worth of 10 million dollars. While her marriage to Kei Komuro will no doubt come with increased financial obligations, it doesn’t seem as though she is motivated by money or status alone. Rather, it appears that Mako values experiences and relationships most in life – two things which will undoubtedly be amplified with her upcoming nuptials.
