Onision Early life
Onision was born on November 11, 1985, in the suburbs of Seattle. His mother raised him and his sisters on a meagre income from work that wasn’t considered prestigious or essential at the time. Greg had mentioned in old videos (such as “Facts about Onision (Story Time)” published in 2014) that his father is a convicted sexual predator who used to sexually abuse Greg when he was little.
Personal Life
Onision was married to Skye Tantaga in 2005. In 2010, the pair separated with divorce and later, he fell in love with Kai Avaroe. He has a daughter named Ocean, who reportedly slipped off the second-story window on the concrete driveway in September 2019. In February 2019, his ex-girlfriend filed the police report, but the incident was believed to be accidental and therefore insufficient grounds for Child Protective Services to get involved.
According to several women, along with his wife, Avaroe, Onision was reportedly involved in coercing more than six women into online or physical sexual encounters.
Career
At 15 years of age, he laid out his plans to compose music independently and develop websites. Aside from these two passions, he also enjoyed doing graphic design. At the beginning of 2006, he opened up his own Youtube channel but didn’t upload videos until October 2007. He initially uploaded videos featuring a character named Chibi related to the central character Lucas Cruikshank created in his internet series “Fred Figglehorn”.
Onision uploaded a comedic video titled “Banana Song (I’m a Banana)” in 2009. The song went viral on the Internet within quite a short period of its release. In the video, Onision jumps energetically around dressed in a banana suit. The video featured his then-girlfriend Skye Tantaga and garnered attention from Comedy Central. As it was later named Viewer Video of the Week on Comedy Central Series, Tosh.0 in 2010 and some of his other popular videos involved them both getting abandoned or injured and struggling to find ways to get home to each other.
Onision has recently been in the news for his off and on-camera activity. He was most notably featured in a YouTube video by James Cook in 2013 called YouTube’s Most Toxic Star. He also appeared on a list curated by Daily Dot with other YouTubers such as Logan Paul and including names like Daniel Sulzbach and Blaire White. Lastly, Strange Eons has criticized his behavior.
Onision often refers to himself as an artist. He’s been with Anne for 10 years. However, because of his controversial videos on Youtube, The Fine Bros decided to make a documentary series based on his sexual encounters and controversial lifestyle choices. After Onision made a tweet regarding the reveal in the docuseries, YouTube suspended Onision’s channels. He has since been accused of harassing and stalking multiple women online. This may be part of why he could not meet his Patreon goal of $10,000 per month – which he claims to need to function correctly. Perhaps now that Onision is officially kicked off YouTube and unable to make money through that platform, people like Billie Dawn Webb will no longer be on the receiving end of harassment from him.
Net Worth
Onision’s estimated net worth as of 2021 is ~$2 million. Before his YouTube channel was suspended in January 2021, he earned an estimated annual revenue of ~$36k. Onision was fined $90,000 in 2019 for disturbing the wetland area by the Planning & Public Works Department of Pierce County, for which he claimed that he had paid his bill.
