Jennifer Dulos is an American film and television producer, who specializes in documenting social issues. She was born in New York City as the daughter of Gloria Ortenberg and Hilliard Farber on 27th September 1968. Her father had a successful financial banking career while her mother was an author. She grew up well-educated during her childhood years before moving on to Brown University to study creative writing. Upon graduation, she proceeded to complete a master’s degree on documentary filmmaking through 2012 at the Tisch School of New York University.
Personal Life
Having five young children, Jennifer prioritized nurturing and taking care of her children at home. Yet she still managed to write for a website called Patch.com, and she also ran her own blog. Jennifer knew her future husband Fotis from Brown University (where they were both students). It wouldn’t be until 2003 that the pair would start dating and marry the year following. They went on to have five children in total. In 2012, it was noted through Jennifer’s writing published online that there appeared to be some sort of trouble occurring in their marriage.
In 2017, she found out about her husband’s extramarital affair. She filed for divorce in March and was looking to proceed with the claim early based on adultery laws; however, this required a high degree of proof from the legal team. Jennifer Dulos was found dead at the scene, yet her murder remained unsolved. Her ex-husband would be arrested on grounds that he had been tampering with evidence in the case, though he plead not guilty. However, the next month he would be charged with murder due to text messages implying that he had lured Jennifer to his home and tied her up before disposing of her body. Her body would later be found in a shallow grave by forensics detectives. Fotis committed suicide while being arrested after writing a suicide note wherein he proclaimed his innocence as well as his belief that it was impossible for him to live with himself over a murder he was not responsible for.
