Dustin Poirier made his professional MMA debut on October 10, 2008. After compiling a record of 5-0 in regional promotions, Poirier was selected to appear as a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter: Team Rampage vs. Team Forrest, which aired on Spike TV in early 2009.
