Dustin Poirier made his professional MMA debut on October 10, 2008. After compiling a record of 5-0 in regional promotions, Poirier was selected to appear as a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter: Team Rampage vs. Team Forrest, which aired on Spike TV in early 2009. On December 10, 2015, Dustin Poirier fought former champion and #1 contender, Anthony Pett, in a lightweight title eliminator bout at UFC Fight Night 80.
