Blac Youngsta (born Sammie Benson on November 18, 1985) is an American rapper and actor from Atlanta, Georgia. He was originally known as Yung Mazi because he made his rapping debut at age 12. In 2015, Blac Youngsta released a number of singles that were featured on DJ Vlad and DJ MLK’s mixtapes such as “Booty Language” and “Respect My Hustle”.
However, it wasn’t until 2016 that he became more mainstream after collaborating with Yo Gotti on the single “Heavy”, the official remix to his song “Law” and rapping in 2 Chainz’s song “Do Too Much”. Both songs were included on Blacsta’s debut commercial mixtape, Tha City, which was released on August 12, 2017.

Blac Youngsta was born Sammie Benson in Chicago, Illinois. He grew up in the University Park neighborhood of Atlanta where he spent time with his cousin who is also a rapper called Ghetto Mafia Records. He has an older brother who owns a record label called 1017 Brick Squad Records which is home to rappers like OJ Da Juiceman and Yung Mazi’s friend Rich Homie Quan.
Career
Youngsta started rapping when he was 12 years old but dropped out of school after only two weeks because he felt that “it wasn’t for him”. He later graduated from High School after attending Mercer County Day School Academy in 2008. His debut commercial single “Lil Baby” was released on May 16, 2015. It tells the story of a young man who wants to buy a house and start looking for his daughter’s mother.
In honor of the first person he killed (when he was thirteen), he called himself Youngsta. He made this disturbing revelation during an interview with VladTV reporter SayWhatHappened. Blac Youngsta has also stated that he plans on getting married soon and wants to become a pastor after finishing his second album. However, as of 2017, no such plans seem to exist as regards getting married or becoming a pastor.
